What is the distinction between spirit, soul, mind, and consciousness?

The best way to answer this is to say you are a conscious energy being.
Because you are conscious, you are awake and alert.
Ever since you have been awake and alert you have been perceiving something. Your perceptions indicated you were aware that there was something to perceive. As you investigated what you experienced, you learned where you were and what things were called. You even learned your name and who you were as well as who you were in relation to everyone else.
You are always learning something, even though you may not realize it.
This is because you are constantly processing information that you receive through your senses.
Your senses are your sight, the sounds you hear, the feeling of the things you touch, the taste of the foods you eat and drink and the smells of odors you encounter. You also experience emotional feelings and the feelings of intuition. But more than anything else, you experience thoughts.
As a matter of fact, it is your thoughts that inspire you to action.
Once your senses are engaged, you make a decision. You either like the sensual input you receive or you do not like it.
Which ever you decide becomes your judgment and your judgment becomes your reality of the experience.
You do all these things; sense, perceive, take in information and judge information because you are conscious, alert and aware.
When you realize that you don’t like something or you do like something, you are aware of yourself. You are self aware now.
These are all dimensions of consciousness.
If you are open, you may also experience a sense of knowing something that is beyond the senses of your body. This sense may be relative to something that has not happened yet but is coming. This sense is like an instinct.
It is a feeling where you know you should or should not do something even though you don’t know why you do it.
You may sense that you can trust someone, even though you just met them, or you may feel that you shouldn’t trust someone that you just met. This is also intuition and this is also consciousness, but it is from the higher end of consciousness.
While you live in a flesh body, you will be living in a material world which will demand your attention and if you are not open to your higher mind, you might only see things with your eyes and hear with your ears, and taste with your tongue and touch with your hands and you may only feel base emotions that will all be forms of attachment.
You will hate those that hurt you.
You will love anything that pleases you or serves you.
You will fear anything you don’t understand and reject it
And you will kill what you do not want to deal with. Whether you physically destroy it or you yell, push, strike or make some other move to get the thing out of your way.
If you are open to your higher mind, you will be curious and will want to understand your world and yourself. You will want to know about the world and yourself. And there will come a time when you will get a sense that there is more to you than the flesh and you will search your entire life for answers but no matter how much information you find, you will not be satisfied until you experience the answer for yourself.
On your journey, you will meet many people. Some will be empty, some will be filled with darkness, and some will be filled with light.
You will be drawn to the person who is most like you.
At the end of your life, when your body dies, you will find yourself outside the flesh form that once housed you and you will wonder what happened. In every respect, you are still you. You are still thinking, you are still perceiving. You can see, you can hear, but you have no physical form. And you are still thinking, you are also still able to imagine, to fantasize and to remember and you will realize, who you are. You are a mind. And if you call out, you may hear another voice and you may see someone, perhaps someone you loved, a parent or grandparent, a friend or spouse. And you will see they look just the same as you remember them.
And you will know how powerful the mind is, for it can project the image of the human form it held in life.
And you will remember that you heard that this image was called a spirit or ghost.
And the love that you shared with this spirit that you once knew in flesh, puts a light in their eyes and yours and you will know this is the flame of the soul. It is all the goodness of the spirit; all the best things; the innocence and virtue of the person you loved.
And you will realize that you know all of this because of the amazing power of consciousness that took you from the journey of simply being awake, to being aware of all the wonders of true life captured by the living mind.
